Golf Fundraiser Information: Nationwide Children’s Championship

Attend the tournament. Have a good time. Help us raise money.

The Nationwide Children’s Championship pro golf tournament will be held in September in Upper Arlington at the Ohio State Golf Club.   Dates are Thursday, September 18, through Sunday, September 21.

Anyone who attends the tournament and uses the DSC promo code will be raising $10 for our organization.  It’s that simple.  Really. All you need to do is attend the tournament (it’s free!). The more friends you bring and the more times you go, the more money we raise.  Each person can raise $10 per day, so if you attend 2 days you help us raise $20.

Tickets to the tournament are free, there are usually food trucks and family-friendly promotions and there is a fun beer tent on hole #13 with a lively atmosphere.  The tournament is enjoyable for everyone and a nice way to enjoy the outdoors on a nice day.

By attending the tournament, you can support Dresden Sister City and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Since its inception in 2007, the tournament has raised nearly $30 million to support pediatric cancer treatment and research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Yes. The Korn Ferry Tour is the #2 pro golf tour in the United States. The players are excellent and many go on to play on the PGA TOUR. Some of the players who played in this tournament have become global golf superstars. You could be seeing the future stars of tomorrow.

Can I bring a spouse, family member and/or friends?

Of course. Everyone is invited and you can print these tickets for anyone coming to the tournament with you or anyone who is a close friend.

The only guideline is don’t abuse the program since it’s for charity. For example, don’t order or print tickets a bunch of tickets that you don’t plan to use, don’t try to resell these online (they have no street value) and don’t hand out printed tickets randomly to strangers on the street. The program’s goal is that friends and supporters of the charities are the ones ordering and using the tickets in this program.

What if I don’t like golf?

The tournament is fun for everyone, you don’t have to like golf. There are usually a variety of activities throughout the tournament. Past activities have includes food trucks, beer specials in the tent at the 13th hole, ice cream day, pancake breakfast day, a charity raffle, autographs for kids, a live radio station broadcast and more.

Even if you’re just a nature person who likes to be outside, the golf course is a beautiful green space and you can enjoy a nice walk along the golf course.

Where do I park?

The tournament has free, offsite parking and it is usually located near Upper Arlington or the Ohio State campus. The shuttle to the course takes a few minutes and is free.

Check the tournament’s local info page for more details about parking. During tournament week there are usually parking signs near Kenny Road and Route 315 that guide patrons to the free parking lot. You can also call the tournament office and ask about parking.  (614) 764-4653.

Other transportations options include taking an Uber to the golf course or using the COTA bus stop on Kenny Road near the Upper Arlington police station. That COTA stop is so close to the golf course that you can see the course from the bus stop.

The parking lot at the golf course requires a parking pass and is for players and staff only.
