MEET OUR 5 COLUMBUS ATHLETE AMBASSADORS
who represented Columbus in the Dresden Marathon & Half Marathon on October 20, 2013:
Name: Stephanie Bosco
Meet Stephanie: Stephanie is an Economic Development Coordinator and moved to Columbus after graduating from the University of Cincinnati. She has come to love the city and enjoys running through downtown. She took up running in 2009 and has completed four half marathons since. For her job, she helps prepare business and trade missions, and is now looking forward to go on her own mission.
Name: Carah Casler
Meet Carah: Carah is an ESL teacher in the Reynoldsburg School District who enjoys running, traveling and speaking German. She used to teach German at Reynoldsburg High School until the program fell victim to budget cuts in 2009. She has been to Germany several times and is very excited to finally visit Dresden and see the Semper Opera building and Frauenkirche, which has been on her bucket list for some years now. Name: Rick Frantz
Meet Rick: Rick is a Senior GIS Analyst for the City of Dublin. He has run 11 full marathons, including Columbus, Boston, Berlin (Germany) and Montreal. Rick loves his neighborhood, the Short North and enjoys volunteering with Friends of Goodale Park. Rick and his wife Julie hosted one of the two athletes from Dresden last year, and they became good friends and have been staying in contact. Rick is looking forward to staying with Jonas in Dresden.
Name: Ryan Wiens
Meet Ryan: Ryan is a graduate of The Ohio State University and currently works as office manager in his family’s business. Ryan is the youngest member of our team, but possibly the most famous one, as he dotted the “i” four times as a member of the Ohio State Marching Band. Cultural exchange is very important to Ryan, and he is looking forward to learning about Dresden’s unique culture.
Name: Shawn Wollenberg
Meet Shawn: Shawn is a Financial Software Developer and a graduate of Ohio University. He lives in German Village and is very proud of his neighborhood. He took up running in 2009, and has since completed several half marathons, and the New York City full Marathon once. He is looking forward to learning about Dresden’s unique history and bragging about Columbus.
